About Animated Note – The Animated Notebook

An image presenting an animation in Animated Note

Animated Note started as a fairly ambitious portfolio project. But realizing its potential (not saying it’s fully realized), I started dragging it along like an old lady lugging her shopping bag, only to eventually give it a place of honor on a bus seat. Now, anyone can come and use what’s here (unlike that shopping bag) while enjoying the animations the app has to offer. It’s entirely free and user-friendly (unlike the aforementioned old lady with her bag). In the future, I plan to develop Animated Note further, making it more engaging and tailored to users' preferences. However, it’s worth noting that the mobile version is limited – the app was designed for computers. After all, laptops are for note-taking; I can’t quite imagine someone specifically visiting a website to make a shopping list (unless they’re that crazy old lady from earlier). That said, I’m not ruling out creating a mobile app for the Play Store someday. The main advantage of this notebook is its animated nature. It features Sylwek the marmot, and as I write this, plans are already in place to bring another marmot into the world. Sylwek’s origin story stems from my friend Sylwek, who started coding before me. Not wanting to lag behind, I began coding too – first in Python, and later shifting more toward JavaScript. Every animation and line of code in this app, I created myself. Though, I’ll admit, ChatGPT sometimes came in handy, much like a bus seat for the old lady’s bag. I’m also planning to add music to the gamified elements of the app. And here’s another bonus: if you’re a bored student, you can play a gambling mini-game. Who doesn’t like gambling, right? Thankfully – or unfortunately – it’s not for real money, but it’s a great time-killer. Of course, I feel obliged to say how dangerous gambling can be. This game is meant purely for fun. Let’s not forget the text-editing functionality. After all, Animated Note is practical and aims to emulate Word. What’s more, it’s completely free! However, I’d be super grateful if you used the "Support me" button in the lower toolbar. C’mon, don’t be like that, pleeeease! :3

I worked on Animated Note with the same intensity as… well, certain urgent moments in public restrooms. There wasn’t a single day when I didn’t open the code to add something, even if I came home drunk from a party. (Though, I admit, that’s just asking for bugs.) As I write this, 107 days have passed since I created the first file for this project. This isn’t my first attempt at making an animated notebook – its predecessor died a natural death. It’s worth noting that the number 107 will surely grow, as I still have plans for this app, and some parts are unfinished. I’m as sensitive to user feedback as a little girl on a playground. But please, imagine eating the same dinner for 107 days straight – sometimes late into the night. It gets tiresome. I’d like to take a little break from this project. Amen. Feel free to check out my hard work here UwU
